Lauren Ashley Ogles Get Cooking Kid is a 4-H workshop I have developed to show kids that cooking is fun and something they can do. Each workshop focuses on good nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle. I have presented the workshop to over 200 elementary 4-Hers in 3 different parishes over the past three years. The workshop has now expanded so that I am now training others on how to give the workshop. I have presented how to give the workshop at the parish, state, and the national level. I was able to give more focus to my workshop as the Louisiana Delegate to the John Deere Leaders Academy in Washington, DC held the National 4-H Conference Center in September of 2006. There I met with other delegates from other states who also focused on bringing awareness to good nutrition to their communities. I met the host of the the Discovery Channel's "Honey, We're Killing the Kids", Dr. Lisa Hark. She encouraged me to stay with it. In March of 2007, I presented my workshop at the national level at the 4-H National Conference in Washington, DC.
